I've been thinking about death a lot lately. My parents are both older and I've been struggling with my own health problems and last night I couldn't sleep because I was thinking about it. I don't scare easily but the idea of death scares me.

For me, death is simply a matter of referring to the traditional teachings of the Catholic faith Pre-Vatican II - we do not know the hour or the moment of our death, so we should be prepare ourselves and be in a constant state of readiness for when God calls us to Himself - only if someone is a child or dies in a particularly tragic way will that person go direct to heaven, most of us will go to Purgatory where our sins will be examined and evaluated, but we will all face the Divine Justice in the Divine Courts of Justice before the Divine Magistrate to give an account of our lives on earth - our position on earth will not matter, only our actions and deeds
eh doesnt christianity teach jesus died for our sins.... so there is no being judged or going to purgatory or hell anymore, jesus put a end to that by the bible stories right?
