Music on youtube that even youtube didn't tell me about

There's all this music on youtube that I didn't even know about! Even when Google play disappeared, they mentioned there was music on youtube but didn't tell me where to find it! Naturally, I typed in www.youtube.com. There's absolutely nothing there to help you find the music, other than a few music videos. It was only about a week ago, after all these years of paying for Amazon music unlimited or just making do with my own mp3s, that I found that if you type in music.youtube.com, there's loads of music there. Google own youtube don't they? Why did nobody, including google, tell me about this?! And why is there no way of finding it through the normal youtube web-site?!

    If you type in the name of the bnd you are interested in into the search bar in Youtube, it is quite good at finding videos from the band - the same for the track name or even genre.

    I tend to build playlists for when I'm working on a document or project that is going to take time and I don't have my phone (with my main music library) on hand.

    It has been there for a long time and artists often ask for the (often illegally uploaded) videos to be removed for copyright reasons - something YouTube is quite good at enforcing when asked.
