Current TV obsessions

This week, it is Coronation Street for me, due to the net finally closing in on one of the Street's villains. For me, the thrill is in finding out how a long-running storyline will conclude.

I'm not a soap watcher so it too me ages to work out that good old firm but fair Mr Hopwood from Grange Hill was that Corrie serial killer guy from the Nineties. He was talking about it on a podcast and I thought 'that's why you were so familiar, I saw you doing menacing looks on the front of every telly listings mag for about a year back when I worked in that newsagents!

I know exactly who you're referring to. Whilst my memories of Brian Capron playing Grange Hill's Mr Hopwood have faded, the memories of him playing the role of Corrie villain Richard Hillman are more vivid. Whilst I dip in and out of some of the other soaps, one could argue that I've always been a bit of a Corrie fan.

No one else had a company car like Quincy’s  they always ended a case in Danny’s Restaurant.

yeah, Quincy was brill. It's funny how there's certain shows and cop shows - any problems or crime - 100% clear-up rate by the end of every episode! Was Taggart Scottish? I didn't watch that one.

I'll never forget the Botchelism episode. Made me queasy about eating out anywhere for quite a while. Lovely stuff. 

I do remember it but never really watched it, I was the same with Taggart. I’ve recently been watching Boon and Pie in the Sky. Quincy was brilliant, “but Sam, there’s people dying out there!’

Roy, remember Cracker? It was a cracker! there was little to beat it at the time

I have nicknamed Stephen ‘The Hooded Claw’ there was a villain in the Perils of Penelope Pitstop with the same annoying voice.

Alan Bradley was a good villain, he was Jenny’s dad. No match for a tram though!

Pat Phelan was pure evil and poor Deirdre, the ‘Weatherfield one’ did time  because of Jon Lindsay. Her case was even bought up in Parliament.
