Current TV obsessions

I am based in the UK and I think we share some shows with the USA so some of mine are:

What We Do In The Shadows - about a group of vampires that live on Staten Island in the USA and go round generally troubling people with their vampiric ways. It's very funny - quite British humour, dry and silly. Has Matt Berry who I adore.

Ted Lasso - Is it British? Is it American? Hard to tell. Roy Kent and Ted are the best characters, but the female actors are also brilliant. Losely about football but not realllllly about football at all (I hate all sports and love this show).

Your turn!

  • My current obsession is Little House on the Prairie, it was first aired in 1974 and ran for 9 seasons, just the first season is 24, one hour episodes. I’ve noticed young jobbing actors who have gone on to bigger things. Obviously I’ve had to start reading into the characters, including those being created for the series or from the original stories, it was based around the books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, only realised recently that the youngest daughter Carrie was played by twins.  Michael Landon and Victor French went on to another fave,  Highway to Heaven, Michael Landon, I first watched in Bonanza as Little Joe at the mighty Pondarossa.

  • I watched Little House on The Prairie as a little kid, never missed it, it was great but quite serious topics like the daughter who went blind (I think I've got that right...it's difficult to bring it to mind) Also watched Highway to Heaven back then.  On the drama side of things these days I'm in to 'Blue Bloods' too. Tom Selleck - quality!

Remember NYPD Blue, I was gutted when that ended!

  • My favourite Police drama was, Hill Street Blues, very gritty, Sergeant Phil Esterhaus… remember, be careful out there!

  • Yeah, that was good too, John Simm is also great. I'm sure I read somewhere that one of the cars was a Granada, the other one later on was a Consul (?), visually they look the same, they always seemed to be walloping the door open and getting out before the car stopped! They seemed to drink an enormous amount of whiskey as well!!
