Today has been good. In fact, it was a great afternoon. I had my usual low points throughout the morning and knew I was in for a typical afternoon feeling like dirt, being told I’m ugly and fat, so today I told those inner voices to get lost and took myself out for a long walk. I put on my backpack, complete with supplies of drinks, food and first aid. I then proceeded to walk through the country fields that surround my little village. I went to the stream, sat there for a good half hour, just watching the water, listening to the flow of the stream. The sun was shining the whole time. It was a really beautiful and relaxing moment of the afternoon. I then went to the farm, saw the cows out in the field, grazing peacefully. Beyond the farm I found the old manor house, once thrived with life but now just derelict and overgrown. I didn’t go in because it’s falling down but it is quite the sight and makes it hard to imagine how it used to look. According to the lady from the post office in the 30s that manor house was still in use, had a Rolls Royce on the driveway and horses kept in the stables. I saw the stables, sadly, also the same state of the house and the roof has collapsed. After the manor house I looped back round, down the hills, saw the train tracks and a really cool old stone bridge which I spend a lot of time under when it’s really hot out. And then I got back home and my cat Whiskers was waiting for me, purring and licking her paws. We’re sat together now and cuddling :)
What a fantastic day!
