Hi- I would do a literature search on pubmed. 
I had a quick look and this one seems to give an overview of why ABA has been used, the concerns raised etc. I quite like the section where they explain about masking. The analogies are good. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10050513/
There are a lot of papers in support of ABA sadly- but those might indirectly be useful too as understanding what ‘evidence’ there is helps to better challenge it.

Speaking as someone with Autism and as a gay man, this to me is both horrifying and is implementing things which are clearly outdated, such as the idea that the only way to manage autism is via ultra strict discipline regardless of the circumstances - it comes from a point-blank refusal to understand the condition and ultimately stems from prejudice and discrimination against both people with autism and against LGBT people

It's the whole concept of harm being disguised as help, that upsets me also. People praying on parents who want what's best for their children, and who also have a very limited understanding of autism. Really ABA should be banned.

I hope so too! I completely agree with what you say about ABA.

Autistic children and adults are perfectly autistic , no one needs therapy for being autistic!

I'm really hoping that sharing this information will make a difference. Parents are being told that they are failing their children, unless the use the therapy. It's awful, and makes me feel sick.
