How much do you talk?

For me not a lot.

I find talking difficult. I don't know what to say, how to make my face react along with speech. I find it overwhelming and exhausting. I also suffer from CFS as well as autism and even a short conversation requires me to have a 20 min nap so I reclaim some much needed energy.

When I was little I didn't talk much then. I find that I need to judge whether it's worth me speaking, which sometimes I feel makes me come across a little rudely when I'm not I'm just trying to do what's best for me.

Sometimes I talk to myself, not in a crazy way mind, just where I say what I'm thinking which helps me think and work things out.

Generally I stay silent though. Talking is tiring and it's stressful. I feel happier when I'm saying nothing.

  • I don't talk much unless I'm with someone I feel very comfortable with. I usually don't know what to say and my social anxiety stops me saying a lot I want to say in case it's stupid or "wrong." I can talk more with people I trust to accept what I say, especially my wife. Online I can write a lot, but again, mostly in places where I feel reasonably safe.
