My Pokemon discussion topic.

Just thought I create my own topic for discussing anything about the Pokemon series, one of my highest interests. Forgive me if there already is a Pokemon discussion somewhere here, since I wasn't bothered to have a look.

Anyway, let me first share my personal thoughts and samples for Pokemon. Many of its creatures are unique and good in different ways, and some of the characters for me are really cool than others, like Pikachu, Charizard, Arcanine, Articuno, Vulpix, Ninetales, Mewtwo, Meganium, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Suicune, Rayquaza, Luxray (not to mention his reminiscent look to SEGA's character Shadow the Hedgehog from their Sonic series, despite not being a hedgehog but a lion, I know. It's just the darkness and personality it has), Flygon, Lucario, Reshiram, Virizion, Aurorus and Xerneas. As for my comments on separate Pokemon, these are the examples: Charizard looks very dragon-like, which is why I always loved dragons (European ones more than Chinese, that is). Arcanine is super awesome for being dog-like and with that cute button nose that one like myself would feel like pressing/booping. Lugia is especially one majestic Legendary that would honour those deemed worthy for it, as well as my dream of wishing to be friends with it and fly on its back inside oceans and in the skies. Suicune is a refreshing and beautiful aquatic(?) species with unique, brilliant and well-thought-out designs, personality and efficient combat skills. Last, but not least, Lucario - he is a very loyal bipedal canine, cool in appearance and has the ability to understand human speech, and even talked himself in the anime, which normally Pokemon do not, other than saying their names for communication.

One more thing I'd like to try showcasing - this fanart picture (by Xous54 on DeviantArt) of the gen 5 Pokemon character, Virizion, is quite amazing and something that sparks my heart into other things of life (whatever that could mean it).

I hope you liked my topic here and wish the best for conversation on Pokemon, including you TriS person which, of course, we've only met, but just a bit curious if you are interested to participate. :)

  • Sorry I didn't see this before. I only skim the recent posts every now and then and the last few days have been difficult so I don't always have the energy to engage with things. If no one else is into it, you could just send me a PM and I'm more likely to see it. Try not to take it personally that we don't all share the same intense interests and some of us are going through our own stuff.

    Anyway, I'm gonna admit that my criteria for Pokémon are a lot less elegant. I like adorable ones like Clefable and Zorua, goofy ones like Slowbro, Numel and Psyduck and ones that remind me of my dog like Lickitung. I've kinda wanted to dip more into the non-game stuff, but I've never made it past season 1.

    Try to be patient and give it time. It was only yesterday that you posted your discussion. Depending on who happens to be signed in and what their interests are, it might take a few days for your discussion to attract replies from hardcore Pokemon fans.

    My son is slightly older than you, and I can remember him taking an interest in Pokemon when he was younger. For a time, it seemed to be all that he and his friends talked about, but then it gradually seemed to morph into a wider interest in animé and Marvel films.

    Just to add... Nobody expects new members to automatically figure everything out here. Relaxed

    I know (from your first paragraph). And how do I even "mention" a topic like this to others? I'm new to this site only yesterday so don't expect me to figure out everything here straight away.

    Anyway, not bad about your comment on Pokemon. Could of been better, though. It should be real hardcore fans in the series that know a lot of it on same level as me. It's just hard to find the right ones.

    Yes... I know many times that not all would be interested. This isn't mostly new stuff to me.

    Yea, hopefully Sparkly giving the thread a bump will put it in front of the right eyes and someone might have be clued in enough to contribute in a way you’d enjoy. 
     
    Im not very well versed in Pokémon but I do remember it catching on like wildfire in… 1999/2000 as I was working in a bookshop/newsagents and suddenly the place was festooned with all the merch. Plushie pikachu was everywhere!

    Please don't think I am having a go at you when I say the following...

    Not everyone here shares the same interests, and not all members visit the forums on a daily basis. It's entirely possible that the reason why nobody has responded is that they simply do not share the same interest as you. It's also entirely possible that members that do share your interest haven't been online to see it.

    Try not to be too disheartened. It's not that members are intentionally ignoring you, just that the right ones haven't come along yet to participate in your discussion.

  • ...No one interested to talk about this with me now? :/ I did imply, being ignored isn't good for me, because of my autism level.
