This gives me hope!

I attended a talk on autism today by Liz Pellicano and it was great- I think this kind of work might actually make a difference to our lives. The tone was also right. And I found this recent review from their group which raises a lot of good points. I love that they have a team of autistic and neurotypical researchers working together and involve autistic people.

This talk was so different from another one on autism I recently came accross- that one upset me a bit... lots of talk of deficits and disorder etc and apart from that I felt there was little understanding of autistic people, and a lot of misconceptions. But after today’s presentation I feel hopeful!
