Now I see the creepy side of AI

I wasn't being flippant.  Tree3squared = Nine Elms Market.

I was asked in an endless loop to identify a cartoon penguin in a captur style "prove you're human" sequence at the weekend.  I obviously couldn't convince "it" I am human.

I'm not the type to be flippant about AI.  I take this stuff very seriously - penguin spotting and all!!

I didn't have a clue so googled it, then just went along with it ....

Thank you for the correction....which I accept to a large degree.

However, huge data is just that.

AI is MUCH more than a repository of data...it can be instructed to use that data, manipulate that data, project a version of that data, generate similes of that data etc.

I don't claim to be an expert on these matters, but I note that most notable humans that are.....seem to be confirming my long-held suspicions that us humans are not ready to play with such powerful tools....not just yet!

Pandora or patience?  I'm patient..quite happy just to play with the plethora of tools I already have.

Huge data. Knowledge implies a level of understanding we haven't reached yet. At the end of the day these AIs are just guess the next word machines that are using a huge chunk of the internet as a guide. We showed it most of the net and the words sunk in but it doesn't fully know what they are. It recites them like a magic spell. It can guess the right answer to 'what is 2+2' is '4' because its seen 2+2 lots in text. Ask it what 'what is 36573+64563' and its going to struggle. Those are not numbers its seen.

I fear not.....I think it has HUGE knowledge and zero wisdom.  That is a very dangerous mis-match in my opinion.

There you go AI is just as dumb as us humans.
