It's very good for looking up information where I just got the wrong end of the stick.

My interaction with live People is so limited, I misunderstand common words and phrases to the point of embarrassment.

Today I discovered what "Tupperware parties" meant.  Previously I thought it was housewives modelling sexy underwear.

    To be fair, those parties do also exist! It's entirely possible you picked up on mentions of both Tupperware parties and Ann Summers parties, which are both sales things that people (usually groups of women) host at someone's house. If you just heard about them in passing it would be pretty easy to assume they were the same thing.
