Long distance travel with or without a chaperone

Living alone in Manchester for over 20 years before my autism diagnosis, many people, including family in Ireland, have always strongly disapproved of my travelling alone long distances (over 20 miles) without a chaperone on any method of travel, including overnight coach travel, SailRail (train and ferry) via Chester/Crewe and Holyhead - Dublin and even by air travel and have always strongly believed and firmly maintained that I need to be (made to, for my own good) only be allowed to travel by (chaperoned) air travel only between Manchester/Liverpool - Dublin, which thier views have always been expressed strongly, forcefully, loudly and in forthright terms - given my last travel disaster at Holyhead in October 2022 in which I was stranded in Holyhead for 2 days due to the U.K. rail strike, which (in thier mindsets) this has proven them even more correct since my diagnosis in 2021 despite my only ever having (minor) issues in the years before my diagnosis - anything coming directly from myself simply results in my being “screamed down” since my diagnosis as they simply refuse to understand, even from an expert advocate, even via an email that is forwarded from an expert that does not contain my opinions (that Im not allowed to form, have nor express any opinions nor views on any issues) as they are big on ultra strict discipline as being the only way to manage autism as “children” need to be seen and not heard” as by reason of my autism diagnosis, I am deemed by them to be “immature” and “disobedient” and therefore “need a firm hand” to manage my condition
