What book are you reading?

I took a look at the first few pages in miscellaneous but couldn't see a reading one so thought I would make my own. Blush

I like books. I love the smell, like you get in a library. I do struggle with reading, my brain can't always process everything I read which makes it challenging but I still enjoy a good book.

I'm a big Disney fan. Possibly the biggest in the world! I've got a book on Frozen, written by one of the women who worked on it. The cover and pictures inside are beautifully done. It's one of my favourites. I've read it so many times.

  • I have just started Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series. It seems good so far. It’s one of those series that has been on my ‘to read’ list for years, but I’ve never got round to it. Now’s the time! Its style is different to what I’d normally read, but I think I’m getting the hang of it.

I have recently finished Christopher Paolini’s Inheritance Cycle for the hundredth time (admittedly an over exaggeration, but it feels that way). This is a series that I return to so often, but get so much comfortable and satisfaction from reading.

  • There's certainly plenty of it! I started reading Discworld years ago and am still probably only halfway through. It's a nice thing to dip back into every year or two.

I'm currently reading Made in America by Bill Bryson. It's about the evolution of American English and American history in general. Some of it (especially the history parts) are really interesting, but when he starts listing all of the words and phrases that were first recorded in the 1890s I wonder if I'll end up abandoning it.

  • There really are a lot! I finished The Wheel of Time a few years ago and it was awesome. I only mention it due to the number of books in that series. It seems like you can read discworld in a number of orders, which might be good to play around with. I think I may end up sticking to the order they were released in though. I’m not that much of a maverick!

I know of someone that loves Bill Bryson books, I’ve never read one, but I hear great things. Supposedly informative and humorous at the same time. That list, even though I usually like a list, sounds like quite the investment! Best of luck.

  • That’s really good to know- thank you. I’m sure that this is the way I would have gone anyway, but this has confirmed it.
