Advice needed for autism support

Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed with autism and ADHD a couple of years ago (at 27 years old), and have found getting any kind of support excruciatingly difficult. I’m at a loss as to what to do to support myself, and find the lack of accommodations in day to day life so challenging.

One issue in particular that I’m struggling with is wanting to move out of my house due to smoking/inconsiderate neighbours (who cause constant sensory overload) and not feeling at home in my own home. However, estate agents are blatantly prejudicial towards anyone not in full-time employment/on disability benefits.

I’m so exhausted from constantly advocating for myself and getting nowhere. I’m wondering if anybody could suggest places I could turn to for guidance/advocacy, and which UK cities are most disability/autism friendly? I don’t want to live in Leeds anymore, but I’m also wanting to study a PhD in the next couple of years, so that contributes to my uncertainty on where would be best.

I feel so alone and dejected from constant ableism and ambivalence. Any advice would be massively appreciated.

Thank you.
