Spiders.. who is a fan?

They aren't very pretty if you look at 'em close up and magnified with a macro lens...

MY O/H was actually considering selling her car after a large spider menaced her during a drive out one day! She kept her nerve and chased it into the dash where it hid for the remainder of the uncomfortable for her, drive home.

I had to rehabilitate the car quickly but Insecticide was a no-no, so I asked the internet and it said "peppermint oil"!

I used an essential oil kit and the heater to fragrance the car and waited. Eventually I found a reasonably substantial spider huddled by the window inside the car near where the mirror is on the door. I assume it was the only point where fresh none minty air was available.

One swift spider relocation later, and the car was saved... 

Can't you fatten em up a bit and sell 'em to an exotic pet store?

Probably make good coin if they grow up to be those huge furry ones.

Best ones to keep in the house are daddy long legs (not to be confused with crane flies) as they hunt other spiders and it's well known a daddy long legs bite could never break human skin so they are a very safe species to have around.
I also give free room and board to cross orb weavers coming in from the cold and jumping spiders which are also not known for biting (and the jumpers are pretty cute actually).

Solid colour species and any with ominous looking back ends will get evicted though, but that's because they set off some other kind of alarm bells not because they are spiders.

I don't think you are alone in this. My best mate at university used to wake me in the middle of the night to de-spider her room for her. A glass and a bit of paper to round it up and pop it outside two at the morning...

Personally, I like spiders. They're sweet. I feel a tad guilty for cleaning up their cobwebs. They do eat other more bothersome household bugs for us.

Don't think this is an autistic thing especially, many an NT feels as you do. But either way, you're not alone I'm sure.

This is interesting, because normally I don't understand why so many people on this site prefer animals to humans, but I'm actually OK with spiders. Even willing to let them crawl over my hands. Although once a spider laid an egg (?) on my kitchen wall and when I tried to remove it, hundreds of tiny spiders came rushing out, which was a bit much...

*He says as a Huntsman Spider crawls out of his mouth..

I've never actually seen a stag beetle in flight, but given their size and shaoe I imagine it's a deeply unsettling experience! I generally quite like insects but I think that might be a bit much even for me.

I love spiders. I've had them as pets, studied them and did a video series on them when I was recording all things small and mysterious. I think they are interesting, I have several books on them

I'm only really bothered by known bitey species. Although if big enough and fast enough occasionally I will see a random one where I'm not expecting it and jump out of my skin before going "oh lol hi spidey".

I really don’t like spiders, they actually make me feel  sick. 
I can’t catch them, I can’t stay in a room if I know that a spider is there. 
Im  not an aggressive guy, but if you were to come at me with a spider, I would definitely lash out and ask questions later.
