Spiders.. who is a fan?

Hello.

So I don't like spiders... i hate them so very much, i don't want them to live outdoors happily out of sight as i know they will ALWAYS find their way back in the house so i want them dead.

To be clear, I don't have a phobia of them and i can kill one myself (if they are small and slow enough and my husband is not around haha) although i prefer that i am not the one that does the deed.

However, my point is, they are fast, they have EIGHT legs, they are light, hang off anything which means they can practically fly and be invisible, so they are a nightmare waiting to happen.

The nightmare being they touch me  with their 8 legs. you know the saying "that makes my skin crawl".. well, that is what it feels to me. the thought of feeling their tiny footprints all over me is repulsive and maybe abit terrifying.

i am just curious... is that a thing for anybody else? (could be with a different creature etc)

thanks

  • I'm like Number in that i don't mind certain types of spiders in my home but others i find horrible. I have killed them in the past which i regret but never do anymore. I'll get a glass/piece of card and take them outside somewhere

  • I don't get/see the difference.. apart from size etc, they all have alot of legs and they will all feel terrifying in contact with my skin.. why are some of them better than others?

  • why are some of them better than others?

You'll never find out for yourself if you just feel the need to kill, kill, kill !!  Try watching some for a while....they are busy doing their own thing almost all of the time.....and their "things" vary.

Trust me - spiders have no interest in us (with very, very few exceptions.)  Many do, however, have significant interest in small flying bugs and eliminating pests that actually do harm/disrupt my micro environment.  The spiders that I consider "better than others" are the ones that actually ensure that my piles of clothes stay undamaged in my house and the ones that help keep my garden wildlife safe OR fed.  Nature is so cool, it boggles my mind.
