Can you look yourself in the eye?

A quick question from me to satisfy my curiosity really. Can you make eye contact with yourself? I.e. in the mirror, during video calls or recordings etc.

I have found that I struggle to do this. It makes me feel the same discomfort I feel with others. I remember using video recordings and conferences during the pandemic and found that during those, I could never really look at myself. I’m the same in the mirror- I can check my face, beard etc. but not my eyes. 

Just interested to see if others experience the same or not.

  • Hmmm...I have an aversion to mirrors, probably for that reason. Visitors to my house are always complaining of the lack of anywhere to check their hair, make up, whether their bum looks big in something. Don't get why this is necessary myself but I've got an antique mirror in the back bedroom, should they feel the need. It's the last thing I want in my own bedroom.
