Hype your fave TV shows, movies, and/or books please.

There's a lull in autistic joy on this site lately, so lets see if a recommend and rave thread will help that.
Like the title says, share your fave TV shows, movies, and books. We already have a still active music thread, so I thought I'd make one for other media.

  • I feel the same, satire doesn't have to be funny when it's a movie trying to get a point to the viewer, just because something s ridiculous doesn't mean it's funny, a lot of times in real life things are ridiculous just because they are, they don't need to be sold as comedy to be more paletable especially stuff that really should never have been paletable in the first place.
Like JoJo Rabbit, it's just too serious a setting that after a while the natural laughs of the youth camp being like an extremist version of the scouts which is uh "fine" I guess but it runs out really fast, because the third reich was awful, so just let it be awful, people should be uncomfortable when confronted with what happened in Nazi Germany.
The kids being kids stuff is still naturally light and funny, but I think it made a huge mistake tryng to keep that energy up after we see the first lot of resistance peopel hung in the square. (Not really spoilers given the historical context.)
Sorry that went very deep but it's so recent in my mind because I watched it last week you just reminded me of it.

I liked Dog Soldiers, Death becomes Her, Shaun of the Dead, and Hot Fuzz, though.
