I'd like some help or guidance with promoting "film night"

I can't seem to edit old original postings, which means each week I need to create a new thread which seems wasteful.

I'm also struggling with making the judgement call of how often I should "bump" the weekly posting I do do up the rankings. 

It's been suggested that the low number of attendees I've been achieving is because I am not managing the "promotional" aspect very well, which given how the rest of my life has gone, is quite likely.

I do have ONE attendee who has watched every film, and enjoyed them to the extent that he reports waking up last Sunday and immediately thinking "Goody, it's flim night today" which is exactly the result I was hoping for, so I won't be quitting any time soon, I guess...

This week it's scheduled to be "Idiocracy", and next week, most likely "Fight club".

  • Now you are getting the hang of it old chap !  Pretend that you don't know how to do something so people jump to your aid.....and then BAM - You hit them with "Idiocracy" this week, "Fight club" next week.   You are like a bona fide INFLUENCER now.......the next thing we know, you'll be starting your own range of Sperg Cosmetics !!!

    I won't do bloody cosmetics! I know makeup can work well, for many people, but from my perspective it's usually a massive waste of time and money for the poor woman, and one which needs day long maintenance..

    Anyway, if I grow bona fide influencing powers, I want to use those powers to form a 'sperg army and subjugate the normies!

    And to be honest I was not pretending.

    After 7 or 8 films it became clear I was not doing it right. (Or I'd misjudged the utility of doing it) 

    At that point one does ask for help & guidance.

    All publicity is good publicity [btw..to any who don't know me, you should know that ALL of my opinions on these matters are diametrically opposed to the ones I am expressing]

    But seriously.....my genuine advice to you on this matter of helping you with advice on promotion, is thus;

    Start a new thread each week - on. Friday afternoon at 4pm with the same title header....something like "Sperms Film Club" [I love auto-correct!]......then, under that title put the film title, with a disambiguation that this is what it is.....something like "This week's film is IDIOCRAZY".......then the time and place, something like - "On Zoom pass code ***** at 8pm this Sunday"

    You need no help beyond that sir - you are more than able to write a witty  Spl-blurb about the film and why people might want to join you.

    Then....let the people decide.
