I hope there is few among us here who read The Dragonlance Chronicles by Margaret Weis. There is a character name Lord Soth, an evil paladin, who possesses some unique powers - Power Words Charm, Command and Kill.
I possess similar 'powers' except mine are mass versions 
I can 'talk to the death' anybody or any group of people while keeping them standing up And those powers works slightly differently, more like bard singing ability, gradualy affecting those around, it starts with 'charm' when they freeze, than 'command' when they stay listening, and than 'kill' when they keep standing frozen unable to move, paralysed.
I was reflecting yesterday and realised it was part of my masking and I no longer do it automatically, but I still can do that, I just spare them nowadays My friends are probably relieved, there was no way to silence me before once I started talking LOL
