I can't remember how old I was when I first watched Monty Python's 'Life of Brian', but what I do remember is that I spent most of it crying with laughter. Repeated viewings since then have continued to have the same effect on me.
One particular quote that has remained with me is this one:
"He's not the Messiah! He's a very naughty boy!".
I perhaps find it more amusing now because I say it to my son when he is going through one of his 'Jesus' phases. What I mean by this is that when he's not shaved or had a haircut for a while, I think he resembles Jesus (long beard and long hair). It should be noted I give him the temporary nickname of 'Jesus' too, and take great delight in asking him to place his hand on my head and 'cure' me when I happen to be suffering from a headache, or am suffering from some other mild affliction. Of course, when my headache (or whatever) persists, I find it impossible to resist telling him, "You're not the Messiah! You're a very naughty boy!"
