For me, that anti-award goes to Blossoms.
Also the Thrills. A mediocre Irish take on the Band.
Also, the 'Next Joy Division' which was JJ72.
I take it they didn't self-proclaim that bit! Brave if so....
It was the done thing, in the era when NME was Gospel.
