I am currently sitting in front of my computer, which is in my kitchen, waiting for something to finish cooking in my microwave.
As I will be eating shortly, one might well wonder why I chose to sign in, or why I feel compelled to share this uninteresting news with you.
Well, I did not know that within 5 minutes of me signing in, my son was going to ask if I fancied something to eat, which I do... because I'm hungry. So, now I'm sitting here thinking, "Don't get too involved with the forum discussions, or at least not until after I've eaten."
"That's all well and good", you might think, "but why are you telling us all this?"
Um, I have no idea. None whatsoever.

Whilst Sparkly knows she is without a doubt completely bonkers, or at least she was when she originally created this post (and hopes she still is now and always will be), Sparkly is inclined to think she might not be alone in being bonkers, considering some of the contributions made to this discussion.
Judging by this long silence, it appears Queen Sparkly prefers the company of a microwave to ours. This is typically elitist behaviour from Her Majesty - between replies, it often seems like she's fitted-in a frame of snooker before deigning to respond. We are not worthy.
Oh are we subjects now? I think I like it. Best not overthink that. I have issues!
No, you are not subjects. Subjects are what one does at school, don't you know. An umbrella term if you like for the likes of Maths, English, etc.
It's good to talk
That was the one I was thinking of!
Yes, yes, yes. Thanks AuTriker, you have just reminded me of a BT advert with Maureen Lipman. "You got an ology!"

Very true. Also, it takes a skilled eye to know the difference between ‘that’s a longish stripy scarf’ and ‘that’s a Season 15 scarf!’ Or whatever. And thus are the fans revealed.
I think the scarf can just about pass as a normal garment, whereas the jumper probably can't.
That’s so cool. I have no scarf. I’ve never been brave enough to wear the jumper out. I’m very shy, so muted colours etc. i did have a lecturer at university who came into his tutorials in that pullover though (his own one, not mine, obviously) and I wanted to say ‘fellow Whovian I salute you’ but I was a timid mute. So that never happened
For real tho
Do you wear it in public?
I have a friend who knitted me a replica Tom Baker scarf. I think it's about twelve feet long. She lives in Texas and sent it air mail. She hadn't told me she was sending it and I got a box unexpectedly and opened it to find this enormous multi-coloured scarf! And I have worn it in public!
I also have the pullover!
I bought it from a company called Lovarzi I think. It wasn’t cheap but it is an exact replica. Maybe they’re still going? Or eBay might have some
Please do! I'd be first to sign up. It would be fun to have a qualification in it. But should it be called Umbrellology so I can say I got an ology? (Although I did get biology so I already have an ology).
*thinks* 'Is that a moose lying on its side?'
Was it custom made? I've wanted one for years...
Excellent idea. I will make a note to contact the Department of Education and suggest they add Umbrella Studies to the curriculum.
