Do you hear sounds that aren't there ?

I've been reading all the replies to my 'dreams' thread, and something else i thought of was, i may have asked this before, does anyone hear noises that aren't there. A bit like tinitus, like music or someone singing, although it sounds more like whailing. In  the past i've heard the sound  which i thought was horses and soldiers, as if Robin Hood or the Battle of the Roses, and the cobbled streets. This has seemed so real i got up out of bed and looked out of the window. There was nothing there and i went to our local librabry to see did they have any records of what was on the land, perhaps 100s of years ago, before the houses were built. The only records showed fields and farms, no battles.

  • I don’t have this but I do smell things that aren’t there. This manifests in 2 ways. First I will smell something that no one else can. This is generally later in the day. I have been woken up by it. It’s generally a pleasant smell and always something specific. For a long time it was hyacinth or Lilly of the valley. You could argue that it was a dream but even fully awake this has happened. One time it was mint sauce, strong and vinegary. Another time it was Olbas Oil, it was so strong it made my eyes water. But it was nowhere other than in my nose as I checked with my daughter and she said there was 100% no smell. The 2nd way is I am reading a book or hear a snippet of conversation and I can smell the thing, the log fire, the chimney smoke etc that I read about or heard mentioned. I’m not imagining the smell I can smell it, to me it’s real. So real that I have looked around expecting to see the thing. I spoke to a doctor who had me tested for epilepsy but all was fine there. It’s just weird!!!
