Do you hear sounds that aren't there ?

I've been reading all the replies to my 'dreams' thread, and something else i thought of was, i may have asked this before, does anyone hear noises that aren't there. A bit like tinitus, like music or someone singing, although it sounds more like whailing. In  the past i've heard the sound  which i thought was horses and soldiers, as if Robin Hood or the Battle of the Roses, and the cobbled streets. This has seemed so real i got up out of bed and looked out of the window. There was nothing there and i went to our local librabry to see did they have any records of what was on the land, perhaps 100s of years ago, before the houses were built. The only records showed fields and farms, no battles.

  • There are & were many reports of sights and sounds of conflict upon old, deserted battlefields. Centuries ago, a king of England sent royal commission members to investigate one of these occurrences - the members reported back that they'd not only seen & heard the dead as if they were trapped in time and still in battle but, also, men who survived the conflict(!)

  • That's what i thought Simon, a battle may be recorded in the earth. I went to a night-school class years ago, in it we spoke about ghosts. Our teacher gave us this reason, why they're often heard or seen, particularly in older houses. He said in the origional older radios, they worked using crystals, and gave out sound. He said the materials that were used in older houses were more likely to include crystals in them. So sounds could appear to be coming from the walls. Now if you accept that, and it's scientifically possible, it's only a short step to think, could the walls record something in the room and play it back, particularly when there's lots of electricty in the air, like on a stormy night.......... Just a thought. So if there'd been a big battle with lots of emotion and deaths...... could the crystals in the earth record the event   ????

  • I read somewhere a film came out possibly in the 70s called Stone Tape and then the theory started popping up. I keep an open mind. These days I think nothing is impossible.  I met a lady once who had audio hallucinations.
