Change of username

Oakling

I have changed from Coffee Guy to Oakling.

I didn’t know if there was an etiquette to follow around changing a username or not, but I thought I’d make a post anyway to let you know. I’d personally like the update as I often get mixed up with who is who.

I didn’t spare much thought to my username when I first arrived. I didn’t know how long I was going to stay here for initially, but also I just wanted to not have an NAS username. 

I like Oakling because of my interest in trees and wood, but it also indicates that compared to an established oak, my stature and life are relatively smaller in comparison. I also like the fact that an Oakling is at the beginning of its journey, just like I’m at the beginning of mine in terms of discovering my autistic identity.

I had a bit of a rough day yesterday, so felt like this morning was the right time to make a change, even a small one like this.

    Cheers Simon. I was doubting whether to change and it took a lot to gain the momentum to do it, but I’m pleased.

    I do keep clicking on threads I’ve commented on now though wondering who Oakling is. “I’ve never seen them on here before’l Then I remember! It’s going to take some adjustment.
