I seem to have a certain Frankie Goes to Hollywood Song in my mind at the moment that the BBC took exception to. I suggest 4 Hail Mary and 6 Our Father.
I see what you did there.
This is all very interesting to me.
I thought that there was a 99+% probability that this moment would arise in relation to this matter at hand.
I wasn't wholly sure when the climax would occur - but it seems to be now - although it has been edging that way for a while.
As I have said recently on a couple of occasions, I am REALLY pleased that I am NOT a moderator.
This is a tricky one to clear up to everyone's satisfaction.
I do pray for a happy outcome.
I don't think i read any of the origional thread. I saw it, i don't think i was offended, but i thought...... what a strange thing to talk about.
Whilst I personally didn't feel offended by the title and content of those posts, I can understand why other members did, and they have made some excellent points.
A 'hidden' opt-in forum where such topics can be discussed strikes me as a good one. I'm no IT expert, but I'm sure that some of the more IT-savvy NAS volunteers/employees could find a way to make that happen, AND also make it possible that anything posted did not appear on the home page... That such content is completely hidden from view unless one is a registered member of the NAS community, and has 'opted-in'.
Edited to add: Perhaps for now, the moderators could temporarily hide the posts being debated here, rather than deleting them? The idea being that those posts could then be moved to a hidden opt-in forum.
I believe that members of this forum at least nominally have to be over 16 years of age. A member's only section would therefore exclude children. The 'Wrong Planet' website has such a feature for sexual-subject matter. I have a marked distain for 'sexual' being referred to as 'adult', because the word 'adult' makes me think of mortgages, income tax and wills, rather than sexual activity.
It is also graphic, I don't need to know what anyones body fluid smells like from the public title alone, regardless on whether or not I click on it or not.
if you don’t like the post don’t click on it!
The rules say the following:
So yes this should be deleted as it is considered -obscene- and will be upsetting for some people.
I agree. Because this forum is public to all and sundry (you can read the forum without logging in) it's a huge safeguarding issue where minors are concerned.
All sexual related content must be age gated in NSFW forum section which doesn't show unless each user actually logged in choses a setting that accepts seeing that kind of thing.
And it's not just minors either. Sexual assault victims with ptsd like myself don't want to have to have sexual trigger words in our face on general forum visibility. TBH it makes me want to leave the forum altogether so it's not helping this forum be accessible either.
Problem is this forum is public, and it's not just about adults, this stuff is visible to curious kids of all ages and should be age gated.
Can you even delete a question? I tried when I asked a question and immediately regretted it (not anymore), but still, I tried, I don't think he can... Maybe you report the question on your end (maybe?). I didn't read it, call me technically interested in your question rather.
Can I suggest moving it to a new NSFW section if possible? Or just hide the word and put ‘trigger warning’ in the title? I know you mean well, but I’m thinking of Jacob’s feelings here. In a way it’s a very NT thing to hide the trickier subjects from a main page, and even though most of us on here would also find it disconcerting at first to see a thread of this kind, many would also maybe think ‘well, he’s asking because he’s genuinely struggling and has been brave enough to ask for help with perspective and practicalities’. I guess neurodiversity is a broad church and intention is key. There’s no trolling in that thread, just genuine inquiry and some delicate navigation and a big of balancing humour. I hope you’re not offended by this counterpoint
