I believe that members of this forum at least nominally have to be over 16 years of age. A member's only section would therefore exclude children. The 'Wrong Planet' website has such a feature for sexual-subject matter. I have a marked distain for 'sexual' being referred to as 'adult', because the word 'adult' makes me think of mortgages, income tax and wills, rather than sexual activity.

That's still a minor in other parts of the world though, it's not just UK people on here. That's why there's 18 in the symbol: 

Also I wasn't even asked to verify my age when I signed up either, so no I don't think hiding it under a log-in alone will protect anyone.
