Gender meutral name ideas

Hi all,

Names are an intermittent special interest for me. I changed mine a couple of years ago to reflect my non-binary gender, but looking to change it again. I need the name to sound good across multiple languages, and would ideally like it to contain an x and not sound like a place- or surname. M.b. I’m not really an Alex. Ideas would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

  • I want to upvote on Onyx too.

The other name that springs to mind is Dax, if you're okay with a Star Trek connection.  Dax was the symbiote who had both male and female hosts, so it's a bit of both too.

I'm actually also trying to think of a non-binary middle name, preferably starting with S.  Currently I'm considering Sammy.  I'm going to get my first name changed to Tink which I've been using unofficially for years.  Suggestions welcome!

  • Thanks Tink, good to connect :) Non-binary middle some - I like the name Shieloh, and there's Sacha/Sasha... I'll keep a lookout. Sammy is great.

I know this might be embarrassing to admit on here, but I know almost nothing about Star Trek. Dax sounds cool though! I would just worry about people starting Star Trek conversations with me and having no idea what to say! It's also a very 'badass'- sounding name, and I'm not sure I'm outgoing or feisty enough. But I love symbiosis and the concept of symiots, so genderqueer symiosis is extra fabulous
