dla middle rate care-sleep!!!

My little one is just 3 and i get Middle rate care for her  and have so since June. When i filled in the forms at the end of May her sleep had been a bit up and down when going to bed and in the night. She often requires me to get her to sleep or sit with her until she falls asleep and could often wake at night but because it wasnt a particular pattern each week i  put on the form "she can often wake at night and require settling". However now 3 months later she wakes up nearly3-4 times a week this of course wakes me and i often have to go in and reasure her and dont go back to sleep until she has settled. What changes do you notify them off as she is defiantly waking more then before.

Many thanks for your help im new to all thisSmile

  • Hi - from reading your post I'm not sure you need to notify them at all.  You say "she can often wake at night + require settling".  From a DWP point of view, her waking 3-4 times a wk is likely not to appear as a change.  It's all about if you defined "often" + also if you defined how long it took her to settle.  If you'd said, for example, that she wakes 3 times a week + takes an hr each time to settle, then a while later she was waking more often, say 5 times a wk + taking 90 minutes to settle then that wd be clear.  Hope you see what I mean.  Also I'd be careful if you're hoping to get her middle rate care component increased.  When/if you notify them please bear in mind that they review the whole case + you cannot presume you'll get an increase, however much you may deserve one.
