Torrential rain on my bungalow's roof just now - I love it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpBFOJ3R0M4
Song For Ten from Doctor Who.
From David Tennant's first episode of Doctor Who. A cracking song.
If You Leave by OMD.
The Rolling Stones - Midnight Rambler (live) from Get Your Ya Ya’s Out. 8mins 32sec if I remember correctly. Haven’t checked in 40years. Has been my favorite since I can remember and will no doubt always be. I love the grittiness yet perfect textures.
Oof what a choon. Send me a postcard! Shocking Blue
I like that song too. I'd never seen that video though. There's one bit in there that definitely wouldn't make it through now!

Full of Eastern promise...
Learning to fly - Tom Petty & the heartbreakers.
Another song I first heard when learning the guitar, and then got hooked on. Tom Petty was way before my time but I still love his music. I was gutted when he died. He was on my list of people to see live.
She sounds a special person.
Carly Simon is brilliant. Love her music. The first song I heard of hers was You're So Vain, I was learning it on guitar, and got hooked on her music at the same time.
The Wildhearts: work experience week in sixth form , 1995 or 1996 - it was Chis Evans’ record of the week. Funny the things you remember
The song that nobody likes
I don’t know many of her songs but she seems fab
That’s really kind
And BTW, that Carly Simon song is absolutely super and has been part of my life for 30+ years. It is moving.
Flipping nora mate....you're such an autist!.....like anyone could/would know the difference and/or care whether it was 6 or 8 years.
......and yet, look at me....the consummate pedant autist....who feels the need to point this out.
I like being here around people like you Shard.
Carly Simon: Coming Around Again.
Someone very special to me (the person who nudged me towards an assessment in more recent times, when I might have still been blindly rolling on dismissing my own intuition) sent me a link to this song when she sensed I was heartbroken at her leaving the department we shared. Eight years ago now- the blink of an eye. I think she could see how I struggled more with change than most people and there was a cryptic acknowledgment somehow in her sending me it. I’ve always liked the song anyway. It would be good even if it weren’t for the lightly discordant notes that intermittently accent the arrangement - a touch of genius that puts it on a whole other level of bittersweet. ‘I know nothing stays the same…’ that’s like a hug and a gut punch in one move. Oddly consoling.
