one of the earliest records I remember being put on the turntable by my mother when I was about three or four, and my experiencing a specific emotion - a pleasant melancholy, a sudden realisation that sadness could be beautiful- for the first time as I sat on the living room carpet  with a toy or two. I play this on the piano a lot now, though not with the same dexterity! I’ve only got two hands and no ability to multi-track!

Not sure whether hearing classic childrens favourites like The Laughing Policeman and The Runaway Train came before or after!

It's later at night and my brain rapidly turns to mush when tired, so I'm sorry to ask but for clarity do you mean that Billy Connolly who sang it (the theme tune https://youtu.be/PDn8B_Cp8JU is still alive ? or someone/something else?

Just found out Supergran is still alive! 

Which in turn has reminded me of the Supergran theme. Heady days.
