Simple Things I Can't Do

There's a lot of things I can't do no matter how hard I try. Most of them are simple things that other people find easy. Looking back thru my childhood I see it was there and it's the same now I'm an adult. . . I put it down to my autism. I can't grip things like cups or pens I drop them when I try. I find walking hard work and fall over a lot I have to go at tortoise speed most. I find drinking and eating hard I always feel I'll choke. There's a lot more but these are the main simple things I'm unable to do.

Just so weird. You can imagine how embarrassing it is when in the shops I try to pick something off the shelf and then drop it and then drop it again.

  • I was in our local supermarket a couple of weeks ago, near the doors is a station where the security guard stands and looks at cctv. I walked straight into the station and nearly knocked it and the guard over. I had been stressing over getting the shopping out of the trolley, on to the conveyor belt and then into bags without falling behind. I walk into doors and have never been able to throw, kick or catch any sort of ball. If I’ve ever had to run, it just seemed that my legs go out of sync.

  • That's a good way of putting it. Out of sync I feel like my brain is out of sync with my entire body all the freaking time ha.
