Simple Things I Can't Do

There's a lot of things I can't do no matter how hard I try. Most of them are simple things that other people find easy. Looking back thru my childhood I see it was there and it's the same now I'm an adult. . . I put it down to my autism. I can't grip things like cups or pens I drop them when I try. I find walking hard work and fall over a lot I have to go at tortoise speed most. I find drinking and eating hard I always feel I'll choke. There's a lot more but these are the main simple things I'm unable to do.

Just so weird. You can imagine how embarrassing it is when in the shops I try to pick something off the shelf and then drop it and then drop it again.

  • That’s Dyspraxia not Autism. It is a co-morbid condition. When I was small, I couldn’t do rollovers or ride a bike. No direction. Clumsy. Always tripping over. Even now, if I think about it too hard, I can’t walk down a flight of stairs properly….

Dyspraxia affects people in different ways, just like autism does. My daughter is also Dyspraxic, However her fine motor skills are bad. Cutlery, chopping, pens…. She struggles a lot.
