What is it with all of these cat repellent machines?

Everywhere I seem to go, these machines seem to pop up and completely ruin a nice walk. The ones I have in mind are the ones that emit a high frequency noise when something is in proximity to them. The idea is that people can’t hear them. Well, I can. They are very uncomfortable. They seem to be everywhere all of a sudden. I don’t like the idea of them anyway, but they completely take over when I hear one out and about.

Has anyone else noticed them or is bothered by them?

  • I get the same thing with those 'teenager repellant' things outside shops that are supposed to be designed so only people under a certain age can hear them, so they discourage groups of 'youths' hanging around outside shops, but they are painful for me still and I am 31 so I don't think I am their target audience. Thankfully we don't seem to have the cat ones around here!
