My son often has meltdowns in public and although i explain hes autistic people generally jus dont get it ? has anyone else had this problem do you have any suggestions?

  • my son is 5 and has been diagnosed severe autism he has made lots of improvements in all areas i love my son and although he cant tell me i know he loves me and we have a strong bond.

    my problem is this we only go out to places in our area that are autism friendly yhis basically means every saturday going to a special adventure playground and once a month swimming for 1hr with other children with autism.

    im a single parent and get no help from his dad or my own family ..thats fine im over it so its basically me my son and his brother and sister .i feel bad for my other kids when they want to go to the local park and i always say no .

    does anyone one else feel like this? 

    i just cant take my son out in public places he is v sensory and self harms and ive had sooo much abuse from people in the past that i just cant bear to expose my lil angel to this sort of abuse .

    im so conflicted as i know he needs to be in the real world but its jus easier to be in a safe secure loving enviroment thats structured.......
