general public

My son often has meltdowns in public and although i explain hes autistic people generally jus dont get it ? has anyone else had this problem do you have any suggestions?

  • Hi - ultimately, if you can't prevent a meltdown then, however difficult it is, concentrate on your child's distress + ignore anyone else, as Scorpion's said.  If you can identify what causes a meltdown then there may be ways to prevent it re-occurring.  We understand how hard it can be when this happens - we've all been there.  It can be hurtful + make matters worse.
