Autism and help

If a child is in mainstream school and was diagnosed with autism, and for example they need help from occupational therapy, do they automatically receive this when they get an autism diagnosis or do they still have to wait on a waiting list to receive help from an OT ?

Also if the childs statement of special educational needs state the child's difficulties, and they are currently recieving help for these, what other help do they receive or is it just making teachers, employers etc aware of a diagnosis throughout a child's life
