Weekend Plans

I have family coming over this weekend which I'm not entirely looking forward to. The whole idea makes me anxious and they insist on talking to me and pestering me, I'm sure they know it upsets me but do it on purpose. Mon Dieu! I'm dreading this. I wish I could just hide under my bed or in the cabinet lol. Hopefully it won't be too bad and I won't get an anxiety attack or worse, burnout.

What is everyone else up to? Hopefully something better.

  • My solution for whole family meetings is to volunteer to do chores that has to be done to meet the needs of everyone

Being busy and keeping your mind occupied with mundane tasks helps to survive, and you can use it as an excuse to stay out of their way most of the time

Last family meeting I attended 4 years ago wasn't the biggest I've seen in my extended family. Only me, my mother, my three younger sisters with husbands, two daughters of the eldest sister and one daughter of the middle one. (now there is 3 more kids born during covid I went to see this summer), so only 11 people.

I volunteered to take care of dinner over 3 days everyone would be staying at out mother's house, SO I had to do shopping, preparation  and cooking, and I did washing up after as well, I had perfect excuse to kick them out of the kltchen saying I need to focus on making dinner LOL Good 4 or maybe even 5 hours each day alone
