Potty training/ all module course

My sons almost 5, although I have been toilet training him I want him out of pull ups, can you please advise the best options for this.

Nobody replied to my previous message on the 5 module training I want to do, if it will be beneficial to me and what’s included as the description only highlights.

  • Hi, I had success getting my son out of pull ups by putting a folded sheet of the 'Plenty' kitchen towel inside, or you could even put a pair of pants on inside the pull up, the idea being they will be more aware of feeling wet, which many , but not all, will dislike the feeling of, you will know by their reaction hopefully if they have started to go, then you quickly take them to the toilet to finish and change.

Then during the holidays I allowed him to just wear pants, and accepted there would be many 'accidents', and gave loads of praise when he made it to the toilet even if a bit late, I was surprised how quickly he learnt, I was lucky he didnt like the feeling of being wet.

This was 15 years ago, my son is twenty now. He did go through a phase of purposefully wetting himself, which started in his special needs school, he must have got a reaction from someone, which he found entertaining, so he continued to purposefully wee, laughing at the same time, so for 6 months when he was about 10yrs he was back in pull ups, we managed to get him back in pants again through the summer hols, and hes been fine ever since. So one tip would be - give no reaction to accidents, and praise/rewards for success, maybe keep a sticker chart , balloons were our sons reward. Best of luck
