Hi everyone, I hope someone here can give me some advice! My brother is 26 years old and has Aspergers. This sounds like an awful thing to complain about but he's very high-functioning, meaning it was never picked up on in school and he went through mainstream education and struggled to make any real friends.
I myself am 21, have just finished university and am planning to go travelling next year. Over the last few years, I've tried to find forums and groups for him to interact with other ASD individuals and people who share similar interests, which are mainly TV and films, in particular superheroes and animation, but because he is high functioning, most of the individuals in these groups are simply on a different wavelength.
Unfortunately we live in a small town half an hour outside of Cardiff, so I'm finding it hard to find new groups or forums for him. I'm really starting to lose hope now, and because I'm going away for so long soon, I thought I would ask people who might know more than me!
So basically, I'm looking for any knowledge of an online forum of high-functioning ASD individuals with a wide range of interests, or any social groups for those with high-functioning ASD within a decent distance of Newport or Monmouthshire, preferably with good public transport action. It's a niche problem, I know, but any help would be great!
