Moving out

I'm thinking about moving out into my own home so I get more independent and start living my life and giving my parents chance to enjoy themselves and just have some peace and quiet.

But I'm not working and I can't drive yet. So I'm not sure if this is possible or how I do it.

If any of you have moved out can you tell me what happened please and how it went

  • I really admire you for wanting to be independent and move out on your own.

Are you claiming Universal Credit or any sort of support payments? cos that could help with the money side of things.

As far as getting a place goes, the best thing you can do is get yourself on the council list as soon as possible. It may take a long time to get a place but the sooner you do it the sooner you can get a house. Also council houses are cheaper and theres a bit more security in it. I dont know where you live but if you live in a cheap area private renting may also be an option

If you need any help with council stuff drop me a message

  • Hiya,

    i haven't moved out but i thought i'd respond

how far away are you intending on moving? i go to Uni next sept and have realised that there is no way i can be more than an hour away in case i need anything. i don't think it would be possible to move out if you aren't working as i would assume that means you have little income? are you unable to work?

you certainly don't need to be able to drive, move somewhere with some nice walks and you'll be fine. no reason why you need to leave the areaJoy. how are you with public transport?

P.S. i think it's really amazing that you wanna do this. Also, if you want to private message me then that's cool
