Four hundred quid spent per week

I spend, roughly, four hundred quid each week; counting both cash and card payments. And that's not even counting insurance payments; I now plan to pay them in one go, since I have enough disposable income to do so.

There's, of course, the negative voice in my head that says, "If you have Childer, you'd have to live on sixty pounds a week; so you do!"

  • Yeah, Jack is doing great things and is ND also, so worth following and supporting her back if you can.

I have had to manage on basic cheap meals before and doing so now and best you don't suffer it, develop a mindset to make the best of it, and treat yourself rarely if at all and within budget.

    Identify cheapest options for everything.

Also, ovens use a lot of energy so think about hob meals - I buy cheap tins of chilli con, you just need a pan for rice and a pan for the chilli, 13 minutes and less energy.  Much cheaper than meal that uses the oven for 30 minutes, and if you use the hob as well then even even more costly.  No-cook meals can help, and worth exploring.  I don't have a microwave so can't save by using one, but don't buy one to save money as you won't save much daily and just be worse off.

Don't buy new things to try and save money, make the best of what you have.
