Exam Anxiety!

As I'm going through my last year of GCSEs, I've got so many exams coming up. Starting from tomorrow, I have 11 exams in the next 3 weeks, and I'm finding it impossible to revise for them all. Firstly, I find it hard to prioritize which exams to study for first. For example, I have a History exam on the 3rd, and then a Biology on the 5th, and so on..Most of them are one day after another, and it's stressful to study effectively for them all. I understand that all 16 year olds struggle with exams, but with my Aspergers and extreme anxiety, I'm just really struggling, as every exam brings more anxiety! Does anyone have ideas on how I could prioritze successfully or just relax about it all?
I just can't wait for them all to be over. Thanks for listening, and I would appreciate anyone's advice. It would all be helpful. Smile

  • Thanks guys, I do get 25% extra time in my exams, but sometimes even that doesn't feel enough! I revise for 2 hours every night, with two 10 minute breaks, but sometimes I feel like I haven't done enough. It's just an awful time at the minute, but I know it'll be over soon. Thanks for all your advice :)

  • Hi - exams create so much anxiety.  I prioritised subjects where I felt I wouldn't do particularly well, ie: get a pass but not a good one.  I spent less time on subjects I felt confident about (after making sure my confidence was not misplaced!).  I studied for 30-60 minutes at a time, concentrating on 1 subject, taking notes, + then stopped + had a break for at least 30 minutes.  That's my own "thinking style" so it may not work for some other people.  Also make sure you get enough sleep. I know, when we're anxious it's so difficult but remember all things come to an end, inc. exams.  Good luck, I hope you do well.

  • 1.) you could ask for special autism arrangments,, this is possible

2.) learn a script of by heart on each subject and download it on the question during the exam, a "A" student told me that is was about being a parrot with a script going into the exam, and tailor the script you have pre-learn around the question, so you just become the spokepersons, not the thinker. Throw in a few references and bingo.

3.) In 3 weeks it will be over, this does not mean your life is over,, actually Aspies do better post-school... in college or university were it is more relaxed and mature.

4.) Go to private school, there teachers are given the exam questions by the exam  education board at paid seminars,, this story came out in press and vanished,, YOU KNOW WHY,, BECAUSE THE SYSTEM IS ADVANTAGE BY CORRUPTION, favour in the elitist circles, whilst the rest of the slaves fight for merit, the rulers rule by corrupt interest and favour. The pupils are taught the exam questions before the exams, hence high "A"s stats at private schools, money to money, corruption to corruption. Sorry to go on here about this, but just remember you are living in a system run by scumbags. NEVER LET THEM DEFINE YOU BY THERE CORRUPT EXAM SYSTEM !!!!!!
