Simple Tasks becoming Herculean

Why is it that a simple case of driving somewhere different is such a Herculean demand for me?

I got my ears dewaxed, this afternoon, and went to a shop on the main Antrim to Ballymena road to buy water. My plans to buy diesel there were thwarted as I was on the wrong side for my nozzle, and the shop is strictly one way. But I did find a parking spot.

Then, when entering the main road, two tourists with Caravans disrupted the flow of traffic. I ended up at a stop zone. But, then, I did get back on the main road. Finding the turn off to get back to Toome.

After that, I had to swerve on a downhill road to avoid traffic cones. All while Radio X was playing Helter Skelter during the 'Best of British' hour. I did get a filling station, for diesel, but it was such a tight squeeze to get on the same side as my nozzle.

Now I'm home, and have diarrhoea. Stress, and on the spot eating. I won't be at the Ardboe game this evening.

  • Sounds like one of those days when everything was set up to test your patience and then sensory overload did the rest. Hope you're feeling a bit better now. I love how ambiguous your mention of the radio was- was it a negative or merely an ironic synchronicity that that song was playing? I'm going with the latter as I suppose you'd have turned down any track that was getting on your nerves.

On the spot eating - I do that way too often as well. In my tiny kitchen. When the table is just a few steps away. Silly but apparently just something I skew towards.
