Books in German for parents

Hi,

I have a friend with an infant that has been diagnozed with autism. The thing is, she lives in Germany, and hardly speaks a word of English. I was wondering what books I could get to get her to understand this condition, in German.

I know it's a long shot but I really don't know where to begin.
thanks

  • Hi Paula, I recently moved to Germany. In my area there is a great free advice service for people with or relatives of people with autism- It might be a good idea for your friend to see if something similar exists in her area of Germany. This advice service also recommended some books about autism (in German) to me, but they are mainly geared towards autistic adults (and particularly girls and women) so I doubt they would be relevant. In one of those books I came across the following website though, which looked quite informative- it's in German and your friend might find some resources there: https://aspies.de/

I'm sorry that I can't be of more help. I hope your friend finds the information she is looking for.

    Best wishes, Ann
