Hey all, I just wanted to post on this forum to get some advice/opinions of autistic people on whether or not you would think I have it.

I've never been assessed, I am a 20 year old, who is diagnosed with Tourette's. As long as I can remember I have struggled with sensory issues, recognising speech patterns, social cues etc. I have been told that I can get in people's space and I really don't like when people get in mine.

I am trying to get an assessment, but I have never reached out to autistic people about these issues. I just wish I knew because then things would make sense. Any advice or opinions welcome. Thank you.

  • From the research I have already done so far and from listening to health professionals and having ASD myself (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and awaiting an assessment myself too at 21 years old, sensory issues, patterns and social difficulties can be signs relating to Autism. I would look into this more and try reaching out to health professionals who will be able to help more. I completely understand and can relate to wanting to connect the dots wanting things to make sense and become clear. I hope this helps you. Best wishes.
