It was on the news this morning that Elon Musk, the worlds richest man has bought Twitter for $44billion. WOW

I was wondering, i think it was only a week or so ago now, we spoke on here that a lot of autistic people, don't like using a phone, especially a mobile phone. I know i don't, i've never used Twitter. Isn't at a bit like having to talk to a crowd of people that you may not know ?

I am encouraged to use Twitter for work (#AcademicTwitter) but I rarely look at it or post. It is to my great surprise that I managed to get 100 followers I often feel a bit left out when I see my colleagues with 1000s of followers... and that they will follow people indiscriminately.

I think one of the drawbacks with many social media platforms is that it can almost seem like a popularity contest. There are so many users that seem to get obsessed with how many followers and 'likes' they can get.
