Twitter

It was on the news this morning that Elon Musk, the worlds richest man has bought Twitter for $44billion. WOW

I was wondering, i think it was only a week or so ago now, we spoke on here that  a lot of autistic people, don't like using a phone, especially a mobile phone. I know i don't, i've never used Twitter. Isn't at a bit like having to talk to a crowd of people that you may not know ?

Do you use Twitter ?

Bill.

  • I tend to just watch Twitter, the world’s richest man is also autistic!

  • I didn't know that, about Musk being autistic. When you think of all the business meetings and interviews he has, it must be hard for him at times.

I've got a mobile Sparkley, but i went as long as i could without one, and  i feel that i was almost forced to get it. Places like banks, and even doctors & hospitals want to contact you by mobile to confirm your identity. I've asked couldn't they email me or phone my landline and they say it's not possible, their sysrems don't allow it. So i've only ever used the text, i've never spoken . When i go the shops, i take my phone, in case there was an emergency, but not sure who i'd phone if there was one.

  • I do have a mobile phone Cullpepper, which I had felt compelled to buy when my dad was terminally ill (in case of emergencies). It's an incredibly basic PAYG mobile. I'm 'old school'... if I want to access the internet, I'll use my computer, and if I want to take photos I'll use my digital camera. As for phone calls, I have a landline phone with built-in answer machine.

I dislike the assumption these days that EVERYONE has a smartphone, and that EVERYONE also has a driving licence and/or passport.
