Locked up for seven years.

I've just been watching a story on Bbc NW news about an autistic man from Blackpool. He has been locked up for seven years. His family have managed to secure his release after they went to the Court of Human Rights. Lancashire Council  have admitted they were wrong, and they shouldn't have done it. They have agreed to pay him £200k in compensation, and are arranging any help and care he needs now.

I wonder if he hadn't had family, on the outside, fighting his corner,  how many more years he could have been a virtual prisioner
